A person reads every one of these

One address, for everything. There is no ticket number, no chatbot standing in the way, and nobody will ring you about your requirements.

Where to start

Some of it is already written down

If something has gone wrong

Four lines will usually save us both a week

Write it however you like. If you happen to include these, the first reply can be an answer rather than a question.

  1. Your version and platform

The version number is in Settings, under Account. Windows, macOS or Linux, and which one you are on if you know it.

  2. What you were doing

The step just before it happened is nearly always the useful one. "It crashed" and "it crashed while I was dragging a connector onto a node in 2D" are very different messages.

  3. What you expected instead

Occasionally this turns out to be the whole bug report, because the thing works as built and was built wrong.

  4. A screenshot, if it is visual

Never send us your actual work, and we will never ask for it. A screenshot with the interesting part visible is plenty.

Problems come to a person, not a queue, so email is the whole of it. If what you have is an idea rather than a fault, there is a Request a feature button in Settings, under Feedback, which is a better shape for it.

What happens next

It is a small operation, and that cuts both ways

The good half: your message is read by someone who wrote the thing you are asking about, so you will not be walked through a script or handed between departments. Reports change the software. Several things in the current version exist because somebody sent an email.

The other half: there is no overnight shift. Most messages are answered within a day or two, some within the hour, and a few take longer when the answer needs actual work behind it. If a week goes by with nothing, assume it went astray rather than ignored, and send it again.

Nothing you send is added to a list. There is no newsletter to be enrolled in by accident and no follow-up sequence. You emailed us, we answer, that is the end of it unless you write again.

Or just say hello

You do not need a problem to be in touch

Tell us what you built, what you wish it did, or that something is missing. We read all of it and we appreciate the time either way.
