Package manager listings are published after each release rather than at the same moment, so they can sit a version behind this page for a day or two. Once installed, the application updates itself.
The Windows and macOS builds are code signed, so they install without the unknown-publisher warning and you do not have to do anything to get that.
If you would rather check for yourself, every build has a checksum published below. It tells you that the file on your machine is byte for byte the file we put out, and it takes one command to confirm.
To produce the hash of a file you have already downloaded:

The application checks for new versions itself and updates in place on all three platforms. There is nothing to subscribe to and no separate updater to install.
Your first fifteen days are the Professional plan in full, with no card and no account. When they end the install moves to the permanent Personal plan and keeps working. Nothing switches off, and no file becomes unreadable. The pricing page sets out exactly where the line is drawn.
Everything you make stays in ordinary Markdown files in a folder you choose, so uninstalling leaves your work behind on disk rather than taking it with it.
Already using Obsidian? There is a plugin that renders your vault in 3D inside Obsidian itself, and the application reads the same folder at the same time with no import and no conflict.
