Our own Help, drawn as a map instead of a list

help-world is the folder our Help is written in. Each topic is a note and each cross-reference is a connection, and this is all of it open in your browser the way anyone you share a space with would see it.

help-world, live Every card is a Help topic. Click one to read it, and follow its lines to the topics it points to.

Open it on its own for the whole screen, which is also easier on a phone.

Why it’s worth a look

A list says what exists, a structure says what leans on what

A list of topics tells you what’s there. Here you can see which topics a lot of others point back to, which ones you’d want to have read before another, and which sit on their own at the edge.

It’s the same set of notes the Help section of this site is built from, so what you read there and what you walk through here are one set of files, with one place to keep right.

How it got here

A folder of notes, shared as one file

Each Help topic is a Markdown note in an ordinary folder, and the links between them are the links you’d type in any notes app. Filamental draws that folder as a structure, and Share > Download wrote it out as the single HTML file you’re looking at. The download is part of Professional, and a live link, which opens the same way, is free for one at a time.

A first thing to try

Open a folder of your own notes the same way

Point Filamental at any folder of Markdown and it draws the links between the notes as connections you can walk through.
