The simplest way to work with AI and Filamental. No connection, no setup, no plugin, works with any AI chat tool including Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Just two windows open side by side.
This is the place to start from a completely blank project.
1. Talk it through. Open your AI chat next to Filamental and discuss whatever you're working on, a project, a process, a research topic. Just a normal conversation, no special format needed yet.
2. Ask for a diagram. Once you've talked it through, ask the AI something like: "Turn this into a Mermaid flowchart I can import into a knowledge graph tool, using flowchart TD and --> arrows." Most AI tools, Copilot included, produce usable Mermaid code from a prompt like this with no extra setup.
3. Import it. Bottom toolbar, + button, Insert Mermaid diagram, paste the code, Build. Copy and paste the code exactly, that's the only part that needs to be precise. Don't worry about getting the node types right at this stage, the wizard lets you assign or create them on the fly, and you can always change them later from the node itself.
4. Ask for content. Go back to the AI and ask it to write the substance: "Now write two to four sentences of notes for each node in that diagram, so I know what each one represents."
5. Paste it in. Copy each block of text across into the matching node's Right Panel (Notepad) in Filamental, one node at a time.
6. Come back anytime. Whenever you want to pick the conversation back up, days or months later, click the broadcast icon in the bottom toolbar. It copies your entire world, every node, connection, and note, to the clipboard. Paste that into any AI chat and it has full context again, no re-explaining required.

That's the whole workflow. No MCP, no Skills, no admin setup, nothing to install.
