THE CHALLENGE
The research that does not travel
Academic research accumulates across too many places at once. Citations live in Zotero. Analysis lives in R, NVivo or SPSS. Drafts live in Word. Datasets live on shared drives. Correspondence with collaborators lives in email. None of these tools knows what the others contain, and none of them shows you how the parts connect.
Grant funding is the oxygen of research, and it is scarce. A competitive application doesn't just need strong ideas, it needs a coherent argument. The logic of a research programme has to be legible: which findings lead where, what gaps exist, why this team is the right one to fill them. That argument is currently assembled at submission time from parts stored across a dozen different places.
