Staring at a blank screen?
Have a natural language conversation with (any) AI to get started. Bounce ideas or give instructions, when you're done, simply ask for the Mermaid code or Markdown with YAML frontmatter.
The abstract becomes spatial. The conversation becomes persistent.
Filamental to AI
Point your assistant at your World folder and ask questions about the structure and/or request changes.
The AI reads the relationships, understands the types, and can propose edits that respect the architecture you have built.
You review and apply. You are always the architect.
Think spatially in Filamental, query intelligently through AI, import the response back into Filamental, refine the structure… then repeat.
Your knowledge compounds.
AI should serve your thinking, not replace it.
You are in control of AI
We could have built "Philomena the Filamental AI bot", but we both know that's a wrapped version of a random LLM, marked up and sold as a feature.
That would be convenient, maybe lucrative. It would also be a data trap.
The AI you use is your choice.
Choose a provider or use a local LLM. The structure it reads is your structure, built by your decisions, meaningful by your definitions.

The choice of whether, when, and how deeply to integrate AI is yours. Filamental makes the choice possible. It does not make it for you.
The moving target
AI changes weekly. Models improve, interfaces shift, best practices evolve. Building a fixed AI feature into Filamental would mean shipping something already out of date.
Building a control surface is different. A control surface does not care which engine is behind it.
Filamental is that control surface for your institutional knowledge. The AI engine changes. The structure of what you know remains yours. The way you direct it remains yours.
We are shooting at a moving target. So is everyone else. The difference is that we are not pretending the target is standing still, and we are not billing you for a rifle that was calibrated last year.
