A project is a folder on your computer, and Filamental keeps a bookmark to it in the Projects window (see Graph). Getting rid of one can mean three quite different things, so here they are, from the lightest to the heaviest. Forgetting is the only one Filamental does for you, and it never deletes a project's folder. The other two you do yourself, outside Filamental.
Forgetting takes the project off Filamental's list and does nothing else. The folder, your notes and everything Filamental saved in it stay exactly where they are, so if you open the folder again one day you carry on where you left off.
Right-click the project in the Projects window and choose Forget project. You'll find the same button in the project's edit window.
Filamental keeps its own settings for a project in a hidden folder called .filamental, inside the project folder. Removing a project means finding the project folder yourself and deleting that hidden folder (you may need to show hidden files first). Close the project first, so nothing's using the folder.
That takes with it:
Your notes stay, with everything they say, and so do any files you put in the folder yourself. Connections between notes are written into the notes, so they stay too, but the connector types behind them go back to the defaults.
The folder is a plain folder again. Open it later and Filamental treats it like any other folder it hasn't met, which makes this useful for a fresh start with the same notes. Filamental can't undo it, so take a copy first if you're not sure.
Deleting means deleting the project folder itself, in File Explorer or Finder. The notes, the files, the settings, all of it. If your computer sends deleted folders to the Recycle Bin or Trash, that's your only safety net.
Filamental will keep listing the project until you forget it. Goodbye everything, so it's worth being sure.
