Open Settings › Graph to choose how nodes and connections are drawn, and watch each change land on the canvas as you make it.
Where: Settings › Graph
What it is
The Graph page holds the drawing settings for the canvas: the node style, how wide titles and labels grow, whether busy nodes look bigger, and how many cards are shown at once. None of them changes your content or your layout, only how it looks. Drag Settings aside by its header to see the graph while you work.
How to use it
Nodes
- Node style chooses Cards (glass panels with the title on them) or Stars (points of light with the name beneath). See Cards and Stars.
- Atmosphere, with Stars on, puts a soft cloud of light around each star.
- Title width sets how wide a card or a star's title grows before it wraps.
- Size nodes by connections draws nodes with more connections larger, so the busy ones stand out.
Connectors
This section appears with Stars on.
- Connector style draws connections Straight, or curved as Sweep (bending toward each group), Tension (showing how stretched a connection is) or Filament (adding fine threads around it).
- Flow when presenting, with a curved style, sends light along each connection in the direction it points. It runs only while you're presenting, so the canvas you build on stays still. See Flow and Breathe.
Cards
- Maximum cards shown sets how many cards are drawn in full at once. The ones nearest the camera get the full card, which keeps a large graph smooth. Raise it on a fast machine, lower it on a struggling one.
Connections
- Highlight connections on select lights up the connections attached to a card when you select it.
- Label width sets how wide a connection's label grows before it wraps.
Tips
- Title width, Size nodes by connections, Maximum cards shown, Highlight connections on select and Label width are saved in the project folder, so they travel with it. Node style, Atmosphere, Connector style and Flow when presenting are remembered for the project on this computer. More in Settings.
- The font on cards and connector labels is Graph font, under Settings › Fonts.
- The forces that shape the layout are in the bottom bar, not here. See Forces.
- A long title belongs in the notes. If the graph feels crowded, a shorter title or a narrower Title width often does more than any other setting.
How this helps you
Use it to make a dense graph readable, to let the important nodes show their weight, to keep a big project smooth on a laptop, or to set up Stars and curved connections before you present.
