Left Panel

This panel is also called "the Lens." It's where you focus, organise, and choose what to display on the graph. Drag things around, right-click for options, click to add.

Fun fact: Filamental was originally called "Feather Lens," a nod to focus and a quill. This panel is where that name lives on.

Connector formatting

Formatting (label, colour, arrowheads, changing connector type) lives here. Right-click a connector to change its global properties, or select individual connectors and adjust them one at a time.

To change a connector's type, select it on the graph and click the new connector type in this panel.

This is different from connector attraction/strength, which is set in Right Panel (Notepad) instead. Formatting is what it looks like, attraction is how hard Dark Energy pulls along it.

Classification & coronas

This is how you control the colour of the "coronas," your visual way of displaying groupings and types. By default, nodes appear unclassified at the top, ready for you to allocate.

  • Click to show only that classification
  • Click and drag to change order (this also sets the stacking order used by the Layers view, see Graph)
  • Click and drag nodes to change their classification
  • Change colours, rename
  • Deleting a classification asks what to do with the nodes in it
  • You can create sub-classifications, which inherit the parent's colour

Templates

Moved out to the top bar (rocket icon), since it applies to the whole project rather than just this panel. See Top Bar.
