This is your node's notepad and properties space. Write a short note or a full document, and apply different sets of properties to different node types/categories. All of it is machine-readable and can be handed to an AI if you choose, see AI Connections & Prompting.
Click the icon next to a node's title to pop that panel out on its own, and arrange multiple pop-outs across screens.
Notes are saved as plain markdown text in your world folder, an open format almost any software can read, so they last forever. You don't need to "save" anything, your notes are typed live: if your computer crashes, you just pick up where you left off.
Type two square brackets while writing to link to another node, then pick it from the suggestion list that pops up. That gives you a hyperlink to that node's page, nothing more: it doesn't draw a connector, so you can mention a node in passing without cluttering the graph behind it. Connectors are yours to draw deliberately, see Graph. We're steadily adding more markdown/Google Docs style keyboard shortcuts here, see Shortcuts.
Shift+Enter for a new line. You can't currently use / in a title (on the list to fix).
Two ways to attach a file:
Apply structured, typed properties to a node, mainly useful for anyone doing IT/networking-style structured data, but flexible enough for any custom schema you want to track per node type.
Metadata here (created/modified/version, etc.) feeds the audit trail. Not much to interact with today, but its role will expand.
The relationships section lists this node's connections. Click a line to jump to that connector's properties, or click a connected node's name to go straight to it.
Connector attraction/strength (normal, weak, none) is set here, not in the left panel, this is what determines how hard Dark Energy pulls two nodes together along that connector. Connector formatting (label, colour, arrowheads) is the left panel's job, see Left Panel.
The number of connections a node has also drives its visual size if Node Scaling is turned on, see Graph.
