Account & Support

Your plan, your licence, keeping Filamental up to date and getting in touch with us all live here.

Where: Settings › Account and Settings › About (the hamburger icon, top right), and the bug button in the top bar.

What's here

Updates

When a new version is ready, a banner across the top of the window says so. Click Update & restart →, shut down any connected apps (Claude, Obsidian and so on), then click Continue →.

A dot on the Settings icon means the same thing, and clicking the dot takes you straight to Settings › About. There, Check for updates looks on demand, and Install and relaunch, then Continue, does the rest.

Filamental only installs an update that carries our signature. Each update also refreshes the Help Playground with new content, so don't keep anything of value in there. Each platform gets its update when it's ready, so a Mac may sit a version behind Windows for a little while.

On Windows, Filamental installs into your own user folder (AppData\Local) rather than Program Files. That's deliberate: no admin prompt, quicker updates, and a clean separate installation for each person on a shared machine.

About and version

Settings › About shows the Version you're on, just above Updates. It's the first thing worth putting in a bug report.
